Witness

Sharmin, a young girl whose father has murdered her mother, struggles to find several witnesses to testify in court in accordance with Islamic law, in an effort to save her father from execution. As she attempts to preserve his life, she finds herself torn between fear and conscience, caught in a painful moral dilemma.

Director Statement : According to my worldview towards women and as a woman , I have always been concerned about making films centered on women, and the three films I have already made also narrate a small part of the life of modern Iranian women in today\’s Iranian society with all the limitations .
This film narrates the life story of a young girl who, due to loneliness and life problems, social restrictions, common misconceptions in society , specifically these two important Islamic laws that I have explained below ,faces a difficult choice between fear and conscience which was my main reason for making this film .
1. According to article 630 , 200 of Iran’s Islamic penal code : If the wife’s adultery is proven in court by the testimony of the witnesses present at the scene, the sentence of retribution of the husband will be cancelled
2 . It should be mentioned , Referring to article 199 of Iran’s Islamic penal code : crimes such as adultery must be proven in court with the testimony of four righteous and mature men or the testimony of three men and two women instead of one man .

Biography: Aida Tabianian (born on March 14, 1993) is a filmmaker and actress, a graduate of filmmaking majoring in directing at the undergraduate level and has directed 3 short films so far. She started acting since her childhood and has many important films in his career that the films have prestigious international awards (62 films). she has also worked as an assistant director in many important projects with reputable and Famous Directors .
