Director’s Statement:

In my opinion, if humankind accept that every creature in the universe can be beautiful the way it is, and should not change or harm itself due to differences and achieving the norm’s desires, the world could be more beautiful.
Today, after centuries of the beginning of human societies, the behavior of each generation is still a repetition of the behavior of the previous generation only with a new format. is repetition, the main reason of which is the selfishness and possessiveness of humans, is considered one of the biggest serious threats to human societies. Unfortunately, possessiveness and selfishness are something that is abundantly repeated in all developed and developing countries. the selfishness of the “Normal human” which manipulates anything other than itself, including people out of their norms and other creatures.
House of the moon tells the story of a situation where two of these minorities, human’s with special differences and animals, join each other and feel for each other. A situation in which, the main character who has suffered from discriminations because of her natural differences, decides to help an other victim of “Normal human”, the animals. The idea of making this film goes back to my childhood. At that time, when I used to go to my grandparents’ village for summer vacations, I sometimes encountered scenes that made me think about why humans hurt animals to achieve their desires. Seeing such scenes always made me sad and annoyed. And these behaviors were so annoying for me that sometimes I would try to somehow escape the tormented animals from the clutches of humans. This was despite the fact that at that time I could not help animals and tell older people to stop hurting them.
I believe that the world will be more beautiful based on awareness about the beauty of differences. And this awareness is the duty of all those who can take a step in any field, so that people may use less selfishness and violence. Violence that is a product of the fundamental thinking of human societies. Sick societies that constantly try to ignore the truth; the right of living for all humans and creatures despite of their differences.
