Statement:
When reality no longer creates anything
I believe the root of human turmoil must be sought in the killing of this reality. For me, this truth unfolds in a place like nature, where humans were born, experienced, learned, passed on, and eventually returned to the soil. It was a pristine path where we derived tranquility from nature and realized that nature provides us in proportion to our needs. However, now is a different time – a time of discontent and the tyranny of desires, a time when we demand more than nature can offer, exceeding our necessities, Then nature becomes sick. Since we distanced ourselves from nature, we also forgot about compassion. We don’t know what we’ve done and what we’re doing. We weakened and sickened the earth beneath our feet, altering the reproduction of its creatures for our excessive pleasure. We made ourselves gods of the earth and became the owners of everything on it. Even death takes a step with our consent. This is the horrifying reality, one in which a bright horizon is not seen. It is here that mythology and the supernatural come to the aid of humanity. In a place where reality lacks color, we find ourselves entwined with the fabric of legend. In Iranian culture, there exists an ancient myth known as ‘The Earthly Cow.’ According to this legend, humans believed that the earth is positioned between the two horns of a cosmic cow. Periodically, the cow shifts the earth between its horns, and the point of contact causes upheaval and destruction. This embodies the essence of deriving pleasure from the wild and pristine nature, which is the ultimate truth. It serves as a reminder that we are part of nature, not its owners. It was this very mindset that, in the past, led humanity to regard nature as a mother—a heritage that needed care to be passed on to future generations. However, today’s humans see nature merely as resources. In my belief, a world shaped in this manner will have a catastrophic end. An end where all elements of nature will join hands for a triumphant return. In this return, humans abandon their homes and seek refuge where there is no refuge left.
